Rick Pollock is a 37-year-old commercial artist who currently specializes in Realism illustrations for Architectural Illustration assignments. Rick is married and is the proud father of two girls, ages 16 and 8. He was formerly an airbrush art instructor and works with another famous illustrator, Dru Blair.

He has contributed to some commercial illustrations for Dru Blair Studios, some of which appear at the Dru Blair Studios Web Site.

We're proud to say that Rick pulled a significant all-nighter to model and shape and massage the "Mouth of Hell" illustration into it's final scariest form for it's debut on Oct. 1, 1999 at the Hell Page.

The illustration was commissioned/conceived by Gary Amirault, author and founder of http://www.tentmaker.org, a Christian Web site where the Hell Page was conceived following some heartwrenching encounters with people whose lives had been ruined for years because of their attitudes, fear and emotions about Hell and Satan's influence in their lives.

Gary's vision was to create a Web site which would help explain the basis for this fear and commissioned this illustration to reflect a mixture of human and beast - to trigger the common emotions of fear and anxiety. The purpose is to encourage the viewer to navigate on the page and avoid being pulled in or sucked into the Mouth of Hell.

The intent of the photo is not only to inspire interest, but to provide a navigational tool that permits readers to place their mouse pointers over the teeth and interact with the questions posed when they do. The visitor clicks on the teeth (links) to get information to help educate them regarding myths and facts about Hell and the Devil.
